Landmark's 1939 Film Festival
This year marks the 65th anniversary of Landmark’s Bridge Theatre, which was named in honor of the Golden Gate Bridge, completed just two years earlier.

The two-week 1939 Film Festival, copresented by the Film Society, runs December 10–23 and will include not only classic Hollywood films from that most prolific year, but also newsreels, cartoons, special guests, live performances, costume events and activities for children.

The opening weekend features Gone with the Wind with an appearance by original cast member Cammie King, who played the daughter of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara. Other films include Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Dark Victory and The Wizard of Oz. The Bridge is located at 3010 Geary Boulevard; for details, visit the festival site or call 415-751-3213.
