Senator John Burton and San Francisco Film Society to Host Screening of In America with Writer/Director Jim Sheridan in Person

Senator John Burton and the San Francisco Film Society will host a tribute reception and screening of writer/director Jim Sheridan’s new film, IN AMERICA, at 6:30 pm, Monday, October 27 at the AMC Kabuki 8 Theatres. Following the screening, Film Society Executive Director Roxanne Messina Captor will lead a conversation with Sheridan.
“We are pleased to welcome Jim Sheridan to San Francisco,” notes Roxanne Messina Captor. “This evening provides a unique opportunity for our guests to interact with this talented filmmaker.”

IN AMERICA, a semi-autobiographical story written by Sheridan and his filmmaker daughters Naomi and Kirsten Sheridan, is a coming-of-age tale about an Irish couple and their two young daughters trying to find their way in a new country. The film stars Samantha Morton, Paddy Considine, Djimon Hounsou, Sarah Bolger and Emma Bolger and opens November 26 in San Francisco theaters.
