San Francisco Film Society Appoints Three Visionary Executives to Board of Directors

Board Launches Campaign for Landmark 50th San Francisco International Film Festival

San Francisco, CA—The San Francisco Film Society announces the appointment of Frank Caufield, Jennifer Feikin and Timothy Mott to its board of directors as plans move ahead for the historic 50th anniversary of the longest-running film festival in the Americas. These three executives bring a wealth of experience from the innovative technology industries of Silicon Valley in support of the San Francisco Film Society’s mission to embrace the artistry and innovation of the world’s most imaginative storytellers and educate, entertain and enrich a wide and diverse range of audiences.

“We are so pleased to add the broad-ranging talents and expertise of these three exceptional individuals to our board as we begin the celebration of 50 years of the San Francisco International Film Festival and look to the future to continue to bring visionary and progressive programming to Bay Area audiences,” said George Gund III, chairman of the Film Society’s board of directors.

Frank Caufield has been active in the venture capital field since the early 1970s, most recently as a cofounder of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He has served on the boards of Quantum, Caremark, AOL, Megabios, Verifone, Wyse Technology, Quickturn, Time Warner and numerous other private and public companies. He currently serves as a director of The U.S. Russia Investment Fund and Refugees International, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as chairman of the Child Abuse Prevention Society of America. Caufield is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jennifer Feikin is director of video and multimedia search partnership for Google, managing the partnerships with Google Video content providers and industry organizations, and helping to drive product development. She joined Google from AOL Time Warner’s Strategic Development group and prior to that worked in theatrical business affairs at 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Morgan Creek Productions. Feikin is a graduate of Duke University and holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Timothy Mott is a private venture capital investor, chairman of All Covered, an IT services company and a director of Electronic Arts. He cofounded and was chairman of Audible; cofounded and was CEO of Macromedia; and cofounded and was senior vice president of production at Electronic Arts. He sits on the boards of California College of the Arts, the Dia Art Foundation, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and ODC.

April 26–May 10, 2007, the San Francisco International Film Festival will mark its place in history as the first film festival in the Americas to celebrate its 50th anniversary. For half a century, SFIFF has presented the best in world cinema. SFIFF50 will honor that tradition while energetically embracing new works, new platforms and new audiences.

The San Francisco Film Society, presenter of the 50th San Francisco International Film Festival (April 26–May 10, 2007), is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to celebrating international film and the moving image.
