The 48th San Francisco International Film Festival's (April 21-May 5) ZOOM! After Hours screening and party on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 will feature Sony Pictures Classics' NOVEMBER, starring Courteney Cox. The screening will begin at 7:00 pm at the AMC Kabuki 8 Theatres. The party directly following the film at 9:30 pm, will be held at Ruby Skye, one of San Francisco's premier nightclubs. Talent from the film are expected to attend the ZOOM! After Hours screening and party.
Director and native San Franciscan Greg Harrison follows up his rave-inflected hit GROOVE with NOVEMBER, a mind-bending psychological thriller starring Courteney Cox who finds herself a long way from Friends as a photographer struggling to separate reality and fantasy as she pieces together the mystery of her boyfriend's murder, one photo and memory at a time. Cox plays Sophie Jacobs, a woman traumatized by the sudden death of her lover Hugh (James LeGros) during a corner-store holdup. Overcome with grief and guilt (she had been cheating on Hugh), she sees a psychiatrist (Nora Dunn) and attempts to reconnect with her mother (Anne Archer). When Sophie discovers an extra slide in her photography tray, however, that tragic night's events are cast in a new light. The mysterious film shows the scene of the crime, but not in the manner that Sophie remembers. Exactly what its blurry images mean, and exactly what they show, sends Sophie on a hunt for not only the enigma of its appearance, but also for the truth behind her memories of that fateful night.
Directly following the film, the ZOOM! After Hours party will be held at Ruby Skye, conveniently located in San Francisco's theater district at 420 Mason Street. Partygoers are invited to continue the festivities at one of the hippest scenes in town for an after film soiree, a late night evening of DJs and dancing. Tickets for ZOOM! After Hours (film and party) are $25 general public/$20 for San Francisco Film Society (SFFS) members; VIP tickets are $50 general public/$45 SFFS members (includes film premiere and exclusive VIP celebrity room access at Ruby Skye).
