SF360 Movie Night is the largest citywide film screening in the country. In partnership with Film Movement, the event invites Bay Area friends and neighbors to gather for house party screenings of a specially selected film on a single designated evening. Hosts are provided with discussion guides, party ideas and menu suggestions by local chefs, and residents throughout the Bay Area participate in a Webcast discussion of the film following the screening.
In collaboration with several arts organizations and non-traditional screening venues, SFFS presents selected programs at satellite locations around the city. Past years have seen a collection of Festival film mash-ups at Edinburgh Castle; an SFIFF/Porchlight storytelling at the Swedish American Hall; documentary screenings at art spaces; an outdoor screening on the façade of SFFD Fire Station #7; and a live interactive performance by renowned U.K. VJs Addictive TV.
The San Francisco Film Society and ComcastSF have joined forces to produce the only television show devoted to the variety and excitement of the SF Bay Area independent film scene. SF360 Movie Scene, 30-minutes of pure TV magic, hosted by Rod Armstrong of the Film Society and Cheryl Eddy of the SF Bay Guardian had its world premiere at 8:00 pm on Monday, February 5 on
ComcastSF-Channel 11. New episodes are slated to air the first Monday of each month. The show will review, discuss and report on locally made and locally screening independent and arthouse films as well as local film festivals.
