Publicity Intern

Working under the supervision of the director of publicity, learn how the Film Society's publicity department operates by assisting in preparing for and executing publicity campaigns for the San Francisco International Film Festival and other Film Society presentations.

Responsibilities
Maintaining publicity files, including copying and filing articles, correspondence and information related to films and press; maintaining video library including labeling, logging tapes in and checking them out; telephoning press to establish and maintain contact; entering data (mailing lists, updates) into computer; preparing and mailing press releases and press kits; generating correspondences; labeling and filing publicity materials; preparing press clippings; and miscellaneous projects.

Skills
We need flexible, energetic, detail-oriented team players with good organizational skills. Macintosh experience helpful, especially in FileMaker Pro, Photoshop, Entourage, Microsoft Word and image scanning. Good writing and telephone skills essential. Knowledge of languages other than English is a plus.

Hours
Minimum of 10 hours (preferably two days) a week for a minimum of 16 weeks.
