Education Program Intern
Looking for intern to assist with our newly expanded year round
education program and the upcoming San Francisco International Film
Festival. The education program is a unique outreach program creating
a strong connection between the Film Society/Festival and the local
educational community, providing students of all ages the opportunity
to participate in the Festival experience. A meaningful forum for
education, understanding and awareness, our program introduces students
to the art of filmmaking and celebrates both the differences and
the shared values of the many cultural groups that make up our community.
The program aims to broaden insights into other cultures, enhance
foreign language aptitude, develop skills for critical analysis
of film and inspire a lifelong appreciation of cinema.
Hours: Around
10 -15 hours a week in the office. Starting immediately.
Skills: We are
looking for an energetic person with good organizational skills
and high attention to detail. Macintosh experience helpful, especially
in Microsoft Word and FileMaker Pro. A good portion of your time
will be spent contacting Bay Area schools and getting them the necessary
information about the program, so good phone skills are needed.
The ability to work with kids is important, as you will have a lot
of contact with large school groups during screenings and the Festival.
Previous schoolwork or background in formal or informal education
strongly preferred.
Benefits: This
is an unpaid position. Opportunities to attend Festival, press and
preview screenings, and also obtain a Film Society membership. A
chance to experience the Film Society and Festival from a different
and exciting perspective.
How to Apply: Please
send resumes and letters of interest to kzwolfer@sffs.org with Education
Intern in the subject line.
